How do I Become an Occupational Therapy Assistant?

To become a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, a student must graduate from a program that has received accreditation from the Accrediting Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE), which is located at 4720 Montgomery Lane, Box 31200, Bethesda, MD 20824-1220

The Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Quinsigamond Community College was reaccredited in August, 2000 for a period of ten years.

After graduation from an accredited program, a student will be eligible to sit for the national examination administered by the National Board for the Certification of Occupational Therapy. Upon successful completion of the examination, the graduate may apply for a state license to practice.
