Credit based on prior learning can be earned at Quinsigamond through the DANTES Examination Program. There are 50 DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSSTs) covering a wide range of college-level academic, business, and technical subjects.  The DANTES program, available through Educational Testing Service (ETS), is used by the college to award credit to students who demonstrate that they know as much about the subject as students completing an equivalent college course.  “CR” appears on your college transcript with the earned number of credits.  There is no charge to have your credit put on the QCC transcript. Please note, the score on your DANTES exam determines if credit will be awarded.  Credit does not count toward residency requirement.  Some program restrictions apply.

If you are interested in earning credit through Dantes, here are your next steps:

• Contact the nearest DANTES test center for registration and schedule information about the exam. The closest test center for QCC is Fitchburg State College. Information and registration packets are available through the FSC Career Services Department. Contact (978) 665-3151 for information including testing dates and payment information.
• After you take the exam, bring an official transcript with your exam scores to Academic Support Services, Room 272A.
