The main product of this externship is a series of lesson plans aimed at formal and informal educators of middle school through introductory level college courses (grades 6-13).  Lessons are listed in order of difficulty and background knowledge required.  

In each lesson plan there is background material for the teacher to better understand the subject, a list of topics that students should already be familiar with before attempting the lesson, a list of Massachusetts Science Frameworks and National Science Education Standards addressed, the lesson itself, and any relevant handouts (in multiple file formats).  Both formative and summative methods of assessment are provided.  Modifications are suggested for students with differing needs, whether the students are more advanced, have learning disabilities, or physical disabilities including visual. 

Educators are encouraged to use these lesson plans as-is, modify them for your classroom, or pass on to colleagues (with credit to Andria C. Schwortz, Quinsigamond Community College).
