To prepare for recitation and interpretation in class
memorize at least one stanza of a poem from the text (30+ lines or two shorter poems) and practice several times.
Know the poem's speaker and its theme.
Look up any confusing words and see me about anything you don't understand.
If you can't memorize the whole poem, recite (speak from memory) 4-6 lines, read the rest of the poem for the class
Prepare a written 450-500 word analysis. Use the poetry questions to help you understand your selection.
