Trail Map of Southeastern Mt.Monadnock

Map

Monadnock State Park headquarters, campground, and picnic area is in the lower right corner of the map.
The Dublin Trail (connecting to the Marlboro Trail) leaves the map at the upper left. The Halfway House Trail leaves the summit and follows the left edge of the map before going off the edge at left center. The Birchtoft Trail extends off the right side of the map to the Gilson Pond tract of the park. Also, see the map of the central section of the mountain, and the map of the western side of the  mountain.

Note that this map is provided by the Park Service when you enter the park.  It is a rough guide, and in some areas is far from an accurate representation of the actual routes that the trails take. For example, the Spellman Trail is much more perpendicular to the Pumpelly Trail than shown here, and its ascent is even steeper than it looks on this map. However, the trails themselves are usually marked well enough that any discrepancies on the map can be ignored as far as navigating is concerned; stay on the trails and the maps are unnecessary anyway, except when choosing your routes--or if you've started on the wrong trail. The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) provides a map that seems to be much more accurate, and at a larger scale(1:9000). It is available at the Park Store in the Headquarters area, as well as at Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS) and other stores, usually with a guidebook to the mountain.
