Topic Schedule Assignment Requirements Assignment Schedule SummaryNOTE: Grade percentages refer to the percentage of the photographic portion of your grade, e.g. each assignment is worth 16.7 percent of your photographic grade; the photographic portion may be worth 90 percent of your total grade.
Five assignments that reflect major concepts presented during the course (i.e. elements, composition, posing, lighting, candid photography.)
Each assignment will consist of:
A sixth assignment is a journal with at least two entries per week which describes, explains, or reveals some aspect of photographing people which you have experienced or found interesting. This could include your response to class work, photographs you have seen, articles on photography (of people) in newspapers, magazine, television, etc., as well as any particular thoughts developed as a result of my direction. The paper will be graded on insight, fact, and loosely on spelling and grammar. Do not simply rehash the class topic for the week. You may include a critique of the course as an addendum to the main journal, not as one of the major entries. Each entry should be one to two paragraphs.
Each of these assignments is worth 15% of your final grade.
Participation (10% of your total grade) is based on how much you contribute to class activities, in particular assignment discussions, assistants for demonstrations, classroom give-and-take.
