Quinsigamond Community College's Art department offers several photography courses for the novice or intermediate photographer. These courses currently use traditional materials and techniques, rather than electronic media or manipulation. (The Applied Arts department provides courses that extensively use electronic media and computers.) Digital cameras certainly may be used. The College does not have a large-scale darkroom that is friendly to the needs of a reasonably-sized class, so none of the courses described below are darkroom oriented--no film processing or printing is done. While some technical aspects are brought up in these courses, the courses focus primarily on general background and the "how-tos" of composition.
