1/3 box seedless raisins
5 prunes, up to 6, depending on size
1/3 cups sugar
A small handful of whole almonds
9-10 cardamom seeds, whole
1 1/2 cinnamon sticks
1 pinch whole cloves, good sized pinch
1 orange peel, dried, from 1 small orange
1/3 bottle Hallonsaft, a special raspberry syrup
25 fluid oz alcohol (3 cups + 1 oz.), 180-190 proof
1 1/2 liters port wine, or other cheap, red, sweet, full-bodied
wine
Combine all but last three ingredients in a large pan. Barely
cover with
water and boil 20 min.
Add remaining three ingredients and bring just to the boiling
point (but DO NOT boil), then
burn off. Cover (to put out flames), and then get drunk.
If you want it stronger(!) add 12 1/2 oz. Whiskey. You can alter
spices to
your own taste.
