There are trails to the summit from virtually any of the roads surrounding the mountain.The other major roads leading to the area include I-91 from central Connecticut through western Massachusetts into southeastern Vermont. Take Vermont Route 9 east to Keene and NH Route 124.
From eastern Massachusetts (e.g., Boston)--and also eastern New Hampshire: one route is I-93 North to NH Route 101A West in Nashua, or from northern New Hampshire, South on I-93 to Manchester and Route 101 West. Route 101 goes along the northern slopes of the mountain and not by the State Park facilities (though the Pumpelly Trail and Dublin Trail are accessible from side roads), but you can take US route 202 south from Peterborough to Jaffrey and turn right onto 124 west, or continue to Upper Jaffrey Road as noted above. From central Massachusetts, routes 12, 31 and 140 all bring you to Route 2; take it west to the Route 140 North exit to US Route 202 North. Or follow Route 12 to US Route 202 North.
