Associate in Science 

     he Computer Systems Engineering Technology program is designed to prepare graduates for a broad range of career opportunities in the information technology field. Technicians may troubleshoot and repair computer workstations and related equipment. They may design and set up computer networks, as well as provide ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting of such systems. Graduates are prepared to work in virtually any organization or business that utilizes computers and computer networks. These professional settings include education, government, health care, and the full range of large corporations and small businesses. A current as well as an anticipated shortage of trained technicians suggests strong career opportunities in the field.

     he curriculum will provide you with an in-depth background in computer electronics and computer network design, installation, and management. You will also be prepared for the A+ certification examination sponsored by the Computing Technology Industry Association(CompTIA) and for several of the examinations leading to the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification .

     pon completion of this program, you will be prepared to obtain employment as a computer network technician or administrator, or to continue your studies at the Bachelors degree level in disciplines such as computer sciences, electrical engineering, or business administration. You should speak with an academic advisor to be sure that the courses you select would satisfy the requirements of the receiving institution.

     f you wish to be considered for the Computer Systems Engineering Technology degree program, you must have a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED). In addition, you must have completed three years of high school English and one year of high school algebra, or the QCC equivalents. All courses must be completed with grades of "C" or better.

A total of 67-68 credits are required for the Associate in Science degree.
