Must have a minimum of C+ (effective fall 2002) or better in all courses
Applicants who have completed English and Algebra
courses at the high school level must test above ENG 100 and MAT 095.
As part of the admission process, the applicant may be required to submit
a writing sample.
Applicants should understand that the State Board
of Registration in Nursing (see web site on professional links page)
reserves the right to refuse an applicant the privilege of sitting for the
NCLEX-PN examination based on Good Moral Character Licensure
requirement. As a result of this requirement, a CORI (Criminal
Offender Records Information) check is required of all students accepted
into the program. Students should be aware that a court record might
prevent them from sitting for the NCLEX-PN examination.
To be eligible for consideration for admission
into the Nurse Education program, an applicant must have a high school
diploma or the equivalent.
HEALTH DATA
Prior to entering the Nurse Education
Program, all students must submit the following data:
1. Health form (which includes a
yearly physical exam and two-step tuberculosis screen, along with proof of
immunizations from measles, mumps, rubella and varicella titre. Hepatitis
vaccine series is mandated along with diptheria/tetanus
injection. **Completion of the
hepatitis series is required prior to program entry. Please note, this
is a six month process.
2. Current CPR (American Heart
Health Care Provider or American Red Cross Professional Rescue)
certification.
3. Verification of updated
Health Insurance. |
