Fall, 2002 a student must
have a minimum of C+ or better in all pre-requisite courses
Applicants who have completed the
math and/or English courses at the the high school level must take the
QCC's math and/or English assessment to demonstrate competency at the
appropriate levels. As part of the admission process the applicant may be required to submit a writing sample.
Students will be accepted into the
Nurse Education Program on a space available basis as they complete the
above requirements.
All pre-requisite science courses must have
been taken within the last five years
*Applicants should understand the State
Board of Registration in Nursing ( see qcc.mass.edu/nursing on professional
link page) reserves the right to refuse an applicant the privilege of
sitting for the NCLEX-RN examination based on Good Moral Character
Licensure requirement. As a result of this requirement, a CORI
(Criminal Offender Records Information) and SORI (Sex Offender
Registry Information ) check is required of all
students accepted into the program. Students should be aware that
a court record might prevent them from sitting for the NCLEX-RN
examination.
To be eligible for consideration for
admission into the Nurse Education program an applicant must have a high
school diploma or the equivalent.
HEALTH DATA
Prior to entering the
Nurse Education Program, all students must submit the following data:
1. Health Form
(which include a yearly physical exam and two-step tuberculosis screen),
along with proof of immunizations from measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella
titre.
Completed Hepatitis
vaccine and/or, titre are mandated along with diphtheria/tetanus
injection. ***Completion of the hepatitis series is required prior to
program entry. Please note, this is a four to six month process.
2. Current CPR (American Heart Health Care Provider or American Red Cross
Professional Rescue) certification.
3. Verification of updated Health Insurance.
