Dr. James W. Brown, Dean of Mathematics and Social Sciences
Dr. Brown has been with Quinsigamond Community College for 35 years. Jim began his service to the college as a member of the English Department. In that capacity, he was most instrumental in launching the first Developmental English program which was designed to help students improve their reading and writing skills. Jim was a key person in developing the English Skills Lab, a state-of-the-art, individualized learning resource center for all QCC students.
In 1992, Dr. Brown began serving the college in an administrative capacity when he accepted the position of Associate Dean of Business and Human Services. He continues his administrative service as Dean of the newly formed Division of Mathematics and Social Sciences.
Dr. Brown's area of expertise is in Community College Administration and Policy Making. His interests include sailing, bicycling, and reading.
Jim is a student oriented administrator who is always available to students in his office in Room 201 A. He can be reached at (508) 854-4324 during normal college hours.
