LINDA LeFAVE, M.Ed., R.T.(R)(M)(QM)
Professor-Program Coordinator/Director

Linda began her career as a radiographer in 1975 upon graduating from the QCC Radiologic Technology Program.  The majority of her professional career has been focused around the program here at Quinsigamond.  She has held positions at affiliate hospitals, including  staff technologist, fluoroscopy technologist and education coordinator.  Since 1983, Linda has been a full time faculty member with this program, teaching a variety of  didactic & lab courses.  Simultaneously she has served as clinical coordinator for the program.  In this position, she routinely visited all the clinical education sites to extend additional supervision and evaluation of students as well as a resource person to the clinical instructors.

She is dedicated to the profession of radiologic technology and demonstrates this through her teaching skills and involvement in the professional organization, the Massachusetts Society of Radiologic Technologists.  As an active member of the MSRT, Linda has served and chaired various committees including co-chair of the annual state conference on three occasions.  Also she has held numerous elected offices on local and state levels, including that of president at both levels.  Lastly she is the author of two review texts.

Linda teaches all of the imaging and image quality courses.    She is the "workhorse" of the faculty and her never tiring energy lends itself to creativity and change within the program.  E-mail: lindal@qcc.mass.edu

COLLEEN KIRLEY, B.S., R.T.(R)(CT)
Associate Professor-Program Clinical Coordinator

Colleen has been a radiographer for over 20 years.  She officially became the program's Clinical Coordinator in the Fall of 2002, as such she oversees the clinical courses to enable the program to provide a consistent clinical experience for the students.  Additionally, she teaches positioning, lab and seminar courses within the program.  

Before  coming to QCC she worked tirelessly for a number of years as a Clinical Education Coordinator/Instructor first at Marlborough Hospital and most recently at UMass Memorial Health Care-University Campus.  Also, Colleen has been a staff radiographer and CT technologist.  She received her professional education through the Mass Bay Community College Radiography Program where she fulfilled her clinical education at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick, MA, and has continued her education through attending conferences and seminars.  Currently she is enrolled in a graduate  degree program at  University of Massachusetts Medical Center, where she will receive a Master's Degree  in Public Health.  

She is well respected amongst students and peers  alike.  She is also a dedicated professional who has served as an officer of the MSRT, presented lectures at local and state meetings, and served on various committees both in the MSRT and within her respective workplaces.  Professionalism and compassion are her trademarks.      E-mail:  ckirley@qcc.mass.edu

MARGARET GNIADEK, B.S., R.T.(R)(M)
Assistant Professor- 1st Year Clinical Coordinator

Margaret joined the program in 2006, coming to QCC after many years with the UMass-Memorial Medical Center .  She is a graduate of the former St. Vincent Hospital School of Radiologic Technology and worked at the Hahnemann and Memorial campuses of the UMMMC as a radiographer, mammographer and supervisor.

Margaret currently teaches first year anatomy and positioning courses, to which she has brought new ideas and imaginative methods of instruction within the laboratory setting.  She also serves as clinical coordinator, bringing her many years of professional experience to the clinical setting for year students .  Margaret has been an active member of the Massachusetts Society of Radiologic Technologists; coordinating numerous continuing education activities.  She models the professional attributes for her students and demonstrates the importance of excellent patient care skills.  E-mail: mgniadek@qcc.mass.edu

RONALD NORTON, A.S., R.T.(R)

Faculty

Ron is a longtime adjunct member of the didactic faculty, and has over 20 years experience in and around hospitals, having worked as a darkroom technician and clinical phlebotomist prior to becoming a radiographer.  He has held positions as a mobile radiographer, staff technologist and MRI technologist.  Ron is a 1993 graduate of the program and has been a part time instructor in the program since 1994.  

He is dedicated to the profession of radiologic technology and demonstrates this through his commitment to the students, program, and through his involvement in the professional society.  He served as the local district president for two straight years, lending his expertise in organizing and fund raising to the benefit of the district.  Additionally, he frequently serves as a lecturer for continuing education programs, speaking on subjects such as pathology and radiation protection.  He has worked as a consultant for Elsevier Publishing Company, previously reviewing the text, Merrill's Atlas of Radiographic Positioning and Procedures, and most recently, the fifth edition of Radiographic Pathology for Technologists.

Ron teaches the radiation science, equipment, quality assurance and pathology courses.  He is very versatile in that he substitutes for any one of the other instructors, teaching just about any course in the curriculum.  Although he is part time, he is dedicated enough that he can be found in the program laboratory most of the days on which he teaches and even on some that he does not.  In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Ron also serves as the program's data administrator.  E-mail: rnorton@qcc.mass.edu

Barbara Darcy, M.Ed.

Faculty

Barbara is another alumna of the QCC Radiologic Technology program, having graduated in 1974.  During her career as a radiographer, she worked in local Worcester hospitals as a staff radiographer, CT technologist and Education Coordinator.  She also served as a lab instructor for the program.  Barbara extended her teaching skills by becoming a certified teacher within the Massachusetts educational system and taught Health courses within the Shrewsbury school system.  She returned to the QCC program as part-time faculty in 2002, teaching the program's courses in patient care and ethics, radiography & medical terminology and advanced topics in radiography.

Actively involved in her profession, Barbara served on numerous local and statewide committees of the MSRT, including that of state conference co-chairperson on three occasions.  She also served as president of the local MSRT chapter.
