Welcome to the Loop Road Construction Site. Your one stop campus construction updates.
Friday 10-9-09
There is a lot of
construction activity scheduled for Friday, but the main issue is that
the Northern Loop will be closed to traffic (the
roadway behind the Athletic Center, continuing down around the
Surprenant Building), and the Surprenant Lot will be closed for
parking. Public Safety will be on hand to provide help,
directions, and assistance with any handicap access issues. Please
note that any cars that go past the parking area behind the
Administration Building will have to exit the campus via Burncoat
Street.
Saturday 10-10-09
The paving
continues! The contractor will be paving parking lots 1 &2, the Loop
Road between lots 2 & 3, and the roadway next to the Children's School,
and so this part of the road will be closed. This is the roadway area
that loops around the Administration Building, heading up Assumption
Avenue. The newly paved roadway on the Northern Loop (see Friday's
paving activity) will be opened for two way traffic. Once again, Public
Safety will be on hand to provide assistance.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Loop Road will begin to be used Friday 9-18-09. The main Spine Road will be closed to all traffic. Please drive slowly and follow the flow of traffic around the Campus ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Public Safety
will be on hand to help monitor and reacquaint everyone to the new lots etc.
Please be patient when navigating the campus.
I do
need your assistance:
Keeping you
safe!
Thanks.

General Information: QCC Soil Management Plan during Loop Road Construction Like most areas in Worcester County, the land at QCC contains an elevated level of naturally occurring arsenic. During the loop road construction project, QCC has worked with the Department of Environmental Protection to ensure all adequate precautions are taken. The College has established plans to make certain that any contaminated soil is not a hazard to its students, faculty, staff, visitors, or neighbors. During the construction process, the contractor is working with a Licensed Site Professional, an expert in soil management, who will monitor the plan for maintaining any disturbed soil on site during and after construction.
