SAFETY TIP OF THE MONTH: Don’t
let your guard down. Crime can occur at anytime, day or night. Criminals target
those who appear to be vulnerable, isolated or preoccupied. Initiating
conversation, such as asking for directions or money, is often a tactic used by
criminals to create opportunity for an assault or robbery.

PROTECTING YOUR OFFICE AREA
Many people who would not
dream of leaving their cars unlocked, may leave their office area unattended. If
you think your belongings are safe, think again. There is a different breed of
criminals known as “office creepers”. They dress like coworkers or service
personnel and use the chaos of a busy office to go unnoticed. Ways to avoid
being a victim of an office creeper:
*Be familiar with as many of your
fellow QCC employees as possible.
*If you see someone wandering
around looking for someplace or thing, ask if you can help them.
*If you believe the person is
suspicious contact QCC Police.
*Keep your personal keys and
office keys separate.
*Don’t hide your wallet or purses
in unlocked cabinets/drawers

MAKE A DIFFERENCE DRIVE
SAFELY
We all use and share the roads,
therefore we should do all we can to encourage and facilitate the safe
operations of all vehicles. We cannot do it alone.
*Distracted drivers were involved
in nearly 8 out of 10 collisions or near-crashes.
*Driver inattention is factor in
most crashes.
Three Things we can do:
- Keep your eyes on the ROAD and both hands on the
wheel.
- Don’t talk or answer your cell phone while driving.
- If you’re going to do anything but drive, Pull Over or
wait until you are safely stopped.

THE
ADVENTURES OF OFFICER BOB

Thieving Tom broke into a bank after hours. Before he left he took down a
camera so that there would be no evidence. Unfortunately for Thieving Tom he
did not get the camera video taping him stealing the camera and Officer Bob
was able to identify and arrest Thieving Tom.

Come join Lt. Reynaldo Rodriguez in
