SAFETY TIP OF THE MONTH: If you want to keep a burglar out of your home, lock all doors and windows when you leave or are sleeping.

 

TOP 10 CHECK LIST FOR EMERGENCY PLAN:

  1. Learn the threats in your area.
  2. Identify meeting places (outside your home and/or outside your neighborhood).
  3. Select your out-of-state contact.
  4. Know your evacuation routes (exits and alternative ways to leave home).
  5. Know the location of utility shut-offs (water, gas, electricity).
  6. Know the policies of schools, day-care and adult-care centers (Emergency shelter/supplies, transportation).
  7. Identify safe spots in each room to take cover, if needed (under sturdy tables and desks, against interior walls).
  8. Extra medications.
  9. Make special provision for: (Children, Seniors, Pets, People with disabilities, non-English speaking).
  10. Schedule annual disaster drills.

 

TOP ALCOHOL DRINKING MYTH

 

bullet Beer is less intoxicating than other types of alcoholic beverage.
bullet One 12-ounce can of beer, one 4-ounce glass of wine or one normal mixed drink or cocktail are all equally intoxicating.
bullet Switching between beer, wine, and liquor will make you drunker.
bullet Mixing types of drinks may make you sicker by upsetting your stomach, but not more intoxicated. Alcohol is alcohol.
bullet Cold Showers, fresh air or hot coffee help sober a person.
bullet Only time will remove alcohol from the system.

 

A Frequently Asked Question: When am I allowed to park in staff/faculty parking? Faculty/Staff parking is 24/7. There is 1 row located in Lot #1 that can be used by students/visitors after 4pm.

THE ADVENTURES OF OFFICER BOB

Drunken Dan sneaked into Lovely Lilly’s home, crept passed her as she was ironing, and rifled through her belongings in her bedroom. Then Drunken Dan fell asleep under her bed. Lovely Lilly tried to wake him up, Officer Bob arrived and dragged him out from under her bed. Drunken Dan’s vodka consumption was to blame.
