Articulations
Quinsigamond has formal agreements with
a number of public
and private colleges covering 14 QCC programs. These agreements
specify admissions requirements leading to acceptance and/or QCC
courses that will be accepted in transfer.
What are articulation agreements?
- Formal contracts between QCC
and other educational institutions
- They specify which QCC programs
are included
- They specify which QCC courses
will transfer
What are the benefits of
articulation agreements?
-
Guaranteed acceptance from a QCC program
to a given major
-
Guaranteed transfer of QCC courses
-
They assure Junior/Upperclass student
standing in certain majors
-
Transfer scholarships may be available
-
Takes the guesswork out of identifying
courses which transfer to the specific institution
What's required in articulation
agreements?
Requirements may vary from school to
school, and agreement to agreement. One or more of the following may
apply:
- Earn the Associate degree
- Meet GPA requirements
- Participate in an interview
- Provide Portfolio
- Designate the number of credits to
transfer (there may be limits)
Do we have to have
articulation agreements in order to transfer?
Articulation agreements are most
valuable in disciplines where disagreements often arise over the
sequencing or prerequisites for specific courses. In areas such as
Liberal Arts, which lead to many different academic disciplines, formal
agreements are less important. In other areas such as Nursing, where
the sequencing of courses is hotly debated, they are more important.

Articulation Agreements with four-year colleges and universities
Please note: Articulation agreements are usually
valid for 3-5 years from the date they are agreed to and signed. Date
of articulation in effect is identified under each four-year
institution. For any general questions related to
these articulations, contact the Transfer Office.
